If you have sent your Facebook campaign to Facebook ad review and haven’t heard anything back, it can be extremely frustrating. But there are a few reasons why Facebook may not have reviewed your ads yet. Keep in mind that a Facebook ad set is usually processed within 1 business day and usually just a couple of hours, but sometimes it can take longer.

In this Facebook ads tutorial, we have collected the most common reasons why my Facebook ads are still in review.

Facebook Ads still in review

Here are the three most common reasons why your Facebook ad campaign hasn’t been approved.

1. Facebook Ads still in review because of technical reasons

False Notifications: Did you recently update your campaign? If so, you might have received a few notifications that the ad has been rejected or is not approved for all links or mobile app placements. It’s important to know that these are just notifications and your ads aren’t actually being rejected.

To clear your notifications, just go to the ad set level and click “Edit”. Then, you can remove any false or outdated notifications and save your changes. You’ll see a notification at the top of the screen if there are no issues with your ad set, so keep an eye out for this!

2. Facebook Ads still in review because of offer or landing page issues

Not In English: Make sure the offer and language of your ad are both in English if this applies to you. It’s also important that your ad’s landing page is in English.

Non-English Landing Page: Your ad’s destination must be in the same language as your ad. Make sure to adjust your targeting if you’re running ads for an English-speaking audience where the destination of the ad isn’t in English.

Offers Not Available In The US: If you are located outside of the United States, please note that your ads may not be allowed to run if they are promoting certain types of offers.

3. Prohibited content and practices

Facebook maintains a list of ad policiess for all advertisers, which you can view by clicking here. Please be aware that they do not allow certain types of advertisements on Facebook:

Gambling Related Ads: Gambling is not allowed on Facebook and your ad can’t promote gambling-related content or practices, such as Any content associated with a regulated or illegal gambling product or service. Any landing page that offers online real money games of chance.

How Does Facebook Ad Review Work?

When you upload a new set of ads to Facebook, they are queued for review. Once the ad reviewer analyzes your campaign and ensures it meets our requirements, your campaign will enter the approval process.

This usually takes between 1-2 business days but in some cases, it could take longer.

How To Prevent Facebook Ad Rejection

Here are some best practices and tips that can help you avoid rejection:

  • Match your ad’s language to the language of your website.
  • Check that links on your landing page direct people back to your website, not somewhere else.
  • Make sure you’re complying with all relevant laws and regulations related to offers or landing pages that you’re promoting.
  • Review Facebook guidelines for legal offers.
