What is my YouTube User ID?
The YouTube User ID is a 24-character long ID that uniquely identifies any YouTube user.
As users can claim the same YouTube usernames, YouTube has to to identify unique YouTube users in a way.
You might be able to use this YouTube user ID when you are using a 3rd party tool or the YouTube API to identify your YouTube user account.
How to find YouTube User ID?
Here is how to find the YouTube user ID:
- Sign in to YouTube.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner
- Select ‘Settings’.
- Select ‘Advanced Settings’ from the left menu.
- Here you will find the YouTube channel ID.
If you don’t have access to a YouTube channel, unfortunately, there is no second way to look up the YouTube user ID.
Can you change the YouTube User ID?
Unlike the YouTube username, YouTube User ID can’t be changed.
Once you have created a new YouTube user, YouTube assigns you a random 24-digit YouTube User ID that you can’t really change after that.
YouTube User ID vs Channel ID
Keep in mind that is also a YouTube channel ID that is completely different from the YouTube User ID.
As not every YouTube user has a YouTube channel as well, there needs to be a separate ID for YouTube channels.
