Who can post on my Facebook page? (Visitor posts settings)
By default, every visitor can post on a Facebook page, even if they haven’t liked that particular Facebook page.
This is generally a positive thing, but sometimes you might want to restrict who and what can be posted on your Facebook page.
Fortunately, Facebook lets you change what visitor posts are allowed or not allowed on your Facebook page.
Keep in mind that you have to have Facebook page admin access level to be able to modify the settings as we are going to show you in the next paragraphs.
How to stop people from posting on your Facebook page?
If you want to stop people from posting on your Facebook page:
- Open the Facebook page
- Click on the ‘Settings’ tab.
- On the ‘General’ tab, search for ‘Visitor posts’
- Click on ‘Edit’.
- Select ‘Disable posts by other people on the Page’
- Click on ‘Save changes’.
Now, Facebook users won’t be able to post on your Facebook page.
You can also turn off video or photo posts by unticking the radio button there.
How to review Facebook posts before they get published?
You can also choose to review the visitors’ Facebook posts before they get published.
- Open the Facebook page
- Click on the ‘Settings’ tab.
- On the ‘General’ tab, search for ‘Visitor posts’
- Click on ‘Edit’.
- Select ‘Review posts by other people before they are published to the Page’.
- Click on ‘Save changes’.
How to allow visitor posts on a Facebook page?
If someone turned off visitor posts to be allowed on the Facebook page, here is how to turn it back on:
- Open the Facebook page
- Click on the ‘Settings’ tab.
- On the ‘General’ tab, search for ‘Visitor posts’
- Click on ‘Edit’.
- Select ‘Allow visitors to the Page to publish posts’
- Click on ‘Save changes’.
