Can you create multiple Facebook Ad Accounts in a Business Manager?
Yes, you can create multiple Facebook Ad Account in one Facebook Business Manager. And actually, as we explain later, we suggest you have at least two Facebook Ad Accounts in one Business Manager.
However, it is possible that if you have just created a Facebook Business Manager account, you can create only one Facebook Ad Account currently.
Why you should create more than 1 Facebook Ad Account?
There are two main reasons why it makes sense to create multiple Facebook Ad accounts:
- backup Facebook ad accounts
- overcome Facebook campaigns, ads, ad sets limit
Backup Facebook Ad Account
The first one is related to Facebook banning ad account left and right without any particular reason whatsoever. Even if you are not running Facebook ads in a borderline niche, you can expect that Facebook might ban or block your Facebook ad account because of some issues.
If something like that happens in the Black Friday season it can be a big problem if you can’t run Facebook ads especially if it is an important acquisition channel in your business.
For this reason, you should create a backup Facebook ad account where you can restart your Facebook ads campaigns and rin your campaigns with the backup account until you don’t get back your banned Facebook ad account.
Facebook Campaign and ad limit
The second reason why you might need to create a second Facebook Ad account running advertising for the same business is related to the Facebook Ad Account limit.
One regular Facebook Ad Account can only have:
- up to 50 ads in each ad set.
- up to 5,000 ad sets.
- up to 5,000 campaigns.
- up to 5,000 ads.

It depends.
If you have just created a Facebook Business Manager account, you can only create one Facebook ad account.
However, if you have created one ad account and you have been running campaigns for a while with that account, you most likely will be able to create 5 Facebook Ad Accounts.
Furthermore, you can be also added to Facebook Ad Accounts, and you be added up to 25 Facebook Ad Accounts as an admin.
Ad Account Creation Limit
You can check out the current limit of ad account creation in your Facebook Business Manager account.
Here is how to check out ad account creation limit:
- Open the Facebook Business Manager account.
- Click on ‘Business Settings’ from the hamburger menu
- Scroll down and click on ‘Business Info’.
- Here you will see your current Ad Account creation limit’.
I can’t create multiple Facebook ad accounts
As we explained in this tutorial, there is an account creation limit that might prevent you from starting more Facebook Ad Accounts. Check out the explanation above to see why you can’t create this Facebook new ad account.
However, you might not be able to create a Facebook ad account if you have violated a Facebook Ads policy and Facebook has banned you from creating a new Facebook Ad account.
Last but not least, keep in mind that you need to be the admin in the Facebook Business Manager if you want to create a Facebook Ad Account.
If you are not an admin in the Business Manager, you can create a Facebook Ad Account in your own Business Manager then ask the BM admin to add the Ad Account to this Facebook Business Manager account.
Alternatively, you can also request admin access to this Business Manager account.
