One of the best practices you should follow as a Facebook advertiser is to add the Facebook Ad Account to the Business Manager, now called Meta Business Suite.

Adding vs Requesting Access to a Facebook Ad Account
Just one more thing that you should know before the actual step-by-step method. You will see that you basically have two options to bring an Ad Account under your Business Manager account.
You can claim or add a Facebook Ad Account, your business owns. This should be the case when you created an Ad Account before but it hasn’t been added to the Business Manager.
If your business is not the owner of the Ad Account, then you should request access to the Facebook Ad Account. We have a separate tutorial on that, but the process is pretty similar:

How to add Facebook Ad account to Facebook Business Manager/Meta Business Suite?
Here is how to add a Facebook Ad Account to Business Manager:
- Open the Facebook Business Manager account.
- Navigate to the Business Settings section from the menu
- Click on ‘Accounts’ then ‘Ad Accounts’
- Click on the ‘Add’ button
- Select the ‘Add an ad account’ option
- Paste the Ad Account ID then click on ‘Add Ad Account’*
That’s it, your Facebook Ad Account has been added to the Business Manager. Now, you can manage the Ad account within the Business Manager, add people and manage the permission on it, etc.

Can’t add Facebook Ad Account to Business Manager
There are two main reasons why you can’t add an Ad Account the Business Manager
First, if this Facebook Ad Account is owned by someone else, you can’t add the Add Account to the Business Manager. As we have mentioned above in this case, you can only request access to this Facebook Ad Account.
Another reason you might not be able to claim an ad account is that you are the admin in the Business Manager. Only Facebook Business Manager Admins can add business assets to the BM.
Remove Facebook Ad Account
